Voice Control Device Types
The voice control functionality in Zennio devices allows users to interact with a variety of devices using virtual assistants like Alexa and Google Home. Below are the most common types of voice control devices, their compatible Boxes, and how to control them with voice commands.
Light
Operation in Voice Assistants
It appears in the Lights group or category. It allows for the control of turning lights on and off.
Compatible Boxes
The boxes compatible with the Light type are:
- [1 Button] Switch icon (Toggle 0/1, 0 and 1)
- [1 Button] Hold/Release (0/1 and 1/0)
- [1 Button] Two Objects
- [2 Buttons] Switch icon (0/1 and 1/0)
- [2 Buttons] Switch + Indicator (0/1 and 1/0)
- [Climate] Heat/Cool mode

Switch
Operation in Voice Assistants
It appears in the Switches group or category. It allows for the control of turning devices on and off.

Dimmable Light
Operation in Voice Assistants
It appears in the Lights group or category. It allows for the control of turning the light on, off, and adjusting the brightness.
Compatible Boxes
The boxes compatible with the Dimmable Light type are:
- [2 Buttons] Lighting control
Note that the on/off function and the dimming function are listed separately, but for proper operation, the same box should typically be selected in most cases.
In order to adjust the brightness, the Absolute Dimming object (used for timers and macros) must be active and linked with the device.

Dimmable Light (Color Temperature)
Operation in Voice Assistants
It appears in the Lights group or category. It allows control over turning on, off, adjusting brightness, and color temperature of the light.
Compatible Boxes
The boxes compatible with the Dimmable Light (Color Temperature) type are:

Note that the on/off function, dimming function, and color temperature function are listed separately, but for proper operation, the same box should typically be selected in most cases.
To be able to adjust brightness, the Absolute Dimming object (used for timers and macros) must be active and linked with the device.
To be able to adjust the color temperature, the Color Temperature checkbox must be active and linked with the device.

Scene
Operation in Voice Assistants
It appears in the Ambients group in Alexa. It allows activating a scene that changes the states of various devices according to the home automation setup.
It is strongly discouraged to configure scenes in ZenVoice whose setup allows actions on security devices such as surveillance cameras, doors, or security panels, among others.

Temperature Indicator
Operation in Voice Assistants
It appears in the Thermostats group or category. It allows monitoring the current temperature.
Compatible Boxes
The boxes compatible with the Temperature Indicator type are:
- [Indicator] Temperature
- [2 Buttons] Switch + Indicator → Indicator type: Temperature
- [Climate Control] Setpoint temperature → Indicator type: "Setpoint is the primary and real is the secondary" or "Setpoint is the secondary and real is the primary"
When the control has several temperature objects, the real temperature object must be selected.

Google Home
Available voice commands:
- "OK Google, tell me the temperature of the living room"
Due to limitations of Google Home, these controls always respond by stating that the thermostat is off.
Thermostat
Operation in Voice Assistants
It appears in the Thermostats group or category. It allows controlling the setpoint temperature and monitoring the current temperature.
Compatible Boxes
The boxes compatible with the Thermostat type are:

The boxes compatible with the monitoring function for the Thermostat type are:
- [Indicator] Temperature
- [2 Buttons] Switch + Indicator → Indicator type: Temperature
- [Climate Control] Setpoint temperature → Indicator type: "Setpoint is the primary and real is the secondary" or "Setpoint is the secondary and real is the primary"
Note that the real temperature monitoring function and the setpoint temperature control function are listed separately, so the appropriate box should be selected for each case, as not all configurations for the Setpoint Temperature box include an object to display the real temperature.

Available voice commands:

- "Alexa, set the living room to 23 degrees"
- "Alexa, lower the living room temperature by 2 degrees"
Although Alexa allows setting a wide range of temperatures, if an attempt is made to set a temperature outside the configured range, it will automatically set to the minimum or maximum, respectively.
Google Home
Available voice commands:
- "OK Google, tell me the temperature of the living room"
- "OK Google, set the living room to 23 degrees"
- "OK Google, lower the living room temperature by 2 degrees"
- "OK Google, I’m cold"
In Google Home, the thermostat is always displayed in heating mode.
Air Conditioning Thermostat
Operation in Voice Assistants
It appears in the Thermostats group or category. It enables temperature setpoint control and current temperature monitoring features.
Compatible Boxes
The boxes compatible with the Thermostat type are:

The boxes compatible with the monitoring function for the Thermostat type are:

Blinds
Operation in Voice Assistants
It enables the functionality to raise and lower a blind.
Compatible Boxes
The boxes compatible with the Blinds type are:

To open or close the blind, the Blind Positioning object (used for timers and macros) must be active and linked with the KNX device.
Voice Control
Alexa
Available voice commands:
- "Alexa, raise the blind"
- "Alexa, lower the blind a little"
- "Alexa, open the blind"
- "Alexa, set the blind to 25%"
Alexa does not have commands to stop the movement of a blind.
Google Home
Available voice commands:
- "OK Google, raise the blind"
- "OK Google, lower the blind a little"
- "OK Google, open the blind"
- "OK Google, set the blind to 25%"
Google does not have commands to stop the movement of a blind.
RGB Light
Operation in Voice Assistants
It appears in the Lights group or category. It enables turning lights on and off, and changing their color.
Compatible Boxes
The boxes compatible with the RGB Light type are:

Voice Control
Alexa
Available voice commands:
- "Alexa, turn on RGB light" → It will turn on in white color.
- "Alexa, set RGB light to blue"
- "Alexa, set RGB light to light gray"
Google Home
Available voice commands:
- "OK Google, turn on RGB light" → It will turn on in white color.
- "OK Google, set RGB light to blue"
- "OK Google, set RGB light to light gray"
For different shades of white, the color representation in the Google Home app and on compatible touch screens may differ slightly.
